Deadline Funnel Review: Why I Love This Evergreen Countdown Timer...

Have you ever visited a website or sales page with a countdown timer and thought, “This can’t be real. It’s just another slimy marketing tactic...”? 


So you watch the clock. It went from 10:00…. 9:59…. 9:58…. 

You wait a few more seconds, then hit refresh. 

The clock reset at ten minutes. You knew it. That so-called deal that’s “only good for the next ten minutes” is a total sham. 

But guess what? That won’t ever happen on my website, thanks to Deadline Funnel. 

Oh, and what if you’re the person selling the product and you want to run an honest countdown? You have to manually stop the clock at the exact time that you promise your subscribers the promotion will end. For most people, that means staying up until 11:59 p.m. when you could be doing something else. 

You could do what I used to do - hire a virtual assistant and pay that person to take off the countdown for you. But that means giving them a lot more info than you’d like, and that’s not necessarily something you want to do with a stranger in India. 

Or the virtual assistant could screw it up and miss the deadline completely. Then you lose trust with your prospects and customers. They don’t take you as seriously anymore because you don’t stick to your word.

Before We Get Started, Read This...

I know there are a lot of online "reviews" where people just talk about the product and pitch it without ever using it to get an affiliate commission. What Is Deadline Funnel?

Deadline Funnel is a software that allows you to create countdown timers and evergreen deadlines. The software is most commonly used in two ways: 

  • Product launches. This is when everyone has the exact same deadline. So if you’re running a Black Friday sale and want the sale to end on Tuesday night, you can set it up that way. 
  • Evergreen deadline. This is a deadline that is continuously running, or “evergreen”. You can set this up from when someone subscribes to your email list, when someone visits a certain page, etc. 

I have done both of these in the past and Deadline Funnel has performed without a hitch. Not too long ago, I ran a Memorial Day special where I wanted everyone to have the same deadline of 11:59 p.m. on Monday night. 

The way this works in Deadline Funnel is that you enter your sales page and then you enter a redirect page. If someone visits at 11:59 p.m. they will see the sales page, but the minute the clock strikes midnight, they will be sent to your redirect page. A lot of times this is a page that just says, “Sorry! You missed out.” 

I also have a few evergreen deadlines on my website. For example, sometimes I will run an upsell campaign when someone opts-in to my email list. I will display a special offer that the person will only get that one time. Once the clock runs out, it is gone forever. 

I’ve even had people enter their email addresses three or four times, trying to get the offer to come back, but Deadline Funnel makes sure they never see it again. When people know that your countdown timers are legit, they take you more seriously, and when you do offer them a special promotion, they’re more likely to take advantage. 

Speaking of entering multiple email addresses, Deadline Funnel has the ability to track both email addresses AND cookies AND IP addresses. That means if someone checks their email on their phone in a Starbucks and then on their desktop at home, the timer will remain consistent. I thought that was one of the coolest parts of Deadline Funnel. It will keep the correct time, right down to the date, time, and even time zone.

Why You're Losing Money...

One of the biggest ways businesses leave money on the table is that fail to give the prospects a reason to buy. A business can have a great website and stellar marketing material but miss one critical ingredient… scarcity. 

Without a reason for someone to buy, and buy right now, you’re losing sales every day. Make no mistake - so many people who visit your website WOULD buy, but they don’t have a reason to buy now. So they leave, perhaps with good intentions, never to return.

Plus, creating a sense of urgency is one of the best ways to increase your conversions. Urgency relates to two well-established principles of persuasion: scarcity and fear of missing out.

Timers are incredible triggers for urgency. First of all, they’re specific. Your sales page wouldn’t be as effective if you said “sale ending soon” or “limited time offer”. When you set an actual deadline (like this Monday at 11:59 p.m.), you specify a firm time-frame for taking action.

Plus, the timer isn’t static. The Deadline Funnel timer will actually “count down” the time left until the deadline. As humans, we’re constantly the environment and something that’s moving is far more likely to grab our attention.

Honestly, Deadline Funnel has some of the best customer support I’ve ever experienced. If it’s after-hours, you can create a standard support ticket. However, during the day they’re available via chat, so you can ask questions and get direct answers. 

I’ve used their chat function way more than I thought I would because I’ve had several specific questions that I couldn’t answer myself. Luckily, they haven’t gotten tired of me yet and have been helpful every time. 

I even had a problem where I couldn’t add the timer itself to my sales page, so I contacted them and they went ahead and added it for me. That was pretty nice of them. 

Deadline Funnel Pricing (It Easily Pays For Itself)
